The Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) has announced several job openings, with applications open until September 12, 2024.
Open Job Positions:
- Clinical Research Scientist – Kisumu
- Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery, Dentistry, Pharmacy, or equivalent. Master’s in Biomedical Sciences, Public Health, Epidemiology, or similar. Four years of relevant experience, including three years in clinical trial research.
- Responsibilities: Oversee clinical trials, manage study protocols, and supervise research staff.
- Nurse (Nairobi)
- Requirements: Diploma in Nursing (KRN/KRCHN) and at least three years of experience in epidemiological research. Must be registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya.
- Responsibilities: Obtain informed consent, perform physical exams, HIV counseling, and administer vaccines.
- Laboratory Technologists – 2 Posts (Nairobi)
- Requirements: Diploma in Biomedical Sciences and proficiency in laboratory procedures.
- Responsibilities: Handle specimen storage, labeling, and data entry.
- Fieldworker – 7 Posts (Nairobi)
- Requirements: Diploma in Biomedical Sciences, computer literacy, and good communication skills.
- Responsibilities: Collect samples, label specimens, and ensure data accuracy.
- Senior Research Administrator (Nairobi)
- Requirements: Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Biomedical Sciences, Public Health, or related fields, with four years of relevant experience.
- Responsibilities: Manage maternal health research, regulatory compliance, and project budgets.
- Data Masters Studentship (Kisumu & Kericho)
- Requirements: Bachelor’s in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or related field. Strong statistical and data analysis skills.
- Responsibilities: Data collection, analysis, and development of predictive models.
Application Process:
Candidates must register on the KEMRI website, log in to view the vacancies, and apply online by the deadline. Shortlisted candidates will need to present original documentation during the interview process.
