ABOUT US
We are an NCUK study centre based in Nairobi, Kenya, offering the International Foundation Year (IFY) course in conjunction with the Northern Consortium of UK universities (NCUK). NCUK undergraduate degree pathways qualifications are designed exclusively for international students and are trusted by universities all over the world. The vision of the college is to create a globally- connected institution tackling 21st Century challenges and opportunities while developing future leaders and managers. In addition, our NCUK accredited institution provides students with a direct pathway into top universities in the UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. We offer International Foundation Year for students who have completed KCSE, IGCSE, A-Levels, International Baccalaureate, Tec, IB Diploma, among other qualifications. International Foundation Year readies our students for their first-year entry into their choice of NCUK partner universities in the said countries. Our expansive curriculum covers Business, Humanities, Engineering, Art and Design and Science/Medicine streams. Students can then progress into over 9,000 degree choices like Law, Architecture, Finance and Marketing, Interior Design, Computer Science and many more.
ABOUT INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION YEAR (IFY) COURSE
IFY is a qualification designed with our partner universities to prepare international students for the first year entry to undergraduate degree courses. Because our qualifications are designed in collaboration with our university partners, they are of the highest academic standards. Studying with us will also help students improve on their English language levels and develop a range of study and social skills. The IFY programme prepares students for study at undergraduate level in Northern Consortium UK (NCUK) partner universities in the UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications and Experience
1. Academic qualification at post-graduate or equivalent level or relevant professional qualifications (Essential).
2. Relevant teaching experience. (Essential). Normally a minimum of 10 years teaching experience out of which 3 years should be in a Principal or Deputy Principal role.
3.Must be registered by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) or equivalent.
4. Education management experience (Essential). Normally a minimum of five years’ education management experience.
5. An understanding of UK/Western higher education and the needs and requirements of international students (Essential).
6. Direct experience of higher education in an international context (Essential).
7. An understanding and experience of International Foundation Qualifications (Essential).
8. Experience of academic assessment and standards and of quality assurance procedures (Desirable).
9. Specific experience of education in Kenya (Desirable).
10. Experience of the development of academic qualifications (Desirable).
11. An understanding and appreciation of private sector education (Desirable).
12. Experience of living and working in in Kenya (Desirable)
Skills (Essential)
1. Demonstrable cross-cultural awareness and understanding.
2. Strong leadership skills and a proven ability to lead, motivate, coach and develop staff.
3. A commitment to teamwork, and a demonstrated ability to manage resources effectively, whether human or physical.
4. A record of achievement in teaching.
5. Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills including fluency in English. Numerate and articulate.
6. Communicate effectively with academics in the Study Centre and externally (for example NCUK academic, moderators, etc.).
7. An ability to review assessments outside his/her discipline including formative and summative assessments set by academic staff at the Study Centre.
8. Competence in the effective use of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT).
9. Proven planning and organisational skills and an ability to take initiative within curriculum and policy objectives.
10. The ability to contribute to policy development.
11. Financial competence.
12. A record of attention to detail, thoroughness and fairness.
13. The ability to prioritise, meet deadlines, work under pressure and, when necessary, with minimal resources.
14. An ability and willingness to travel both within Kenya and internationally.
