Mpala Research Centre was established in November 1994 at the core of the Ewaso ecosystem, a large, geographically diverse region of central Kenya, defined by the Ewaso Ng’iro River and it’s tributaries. The region is characterised by arid and semi-arid savannahs and woodlands, having an estimated 550 bird species and 100 mammal species

Accountant Internship

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Post and process journal entries to ensure all transactions are recorded.
  • Update accounts receivable and issue invoices.
  • Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations.
  • Maintaining bank files, updating transfers for all our accounts.
  • Bank reconciliations.
  • Petty cash management and reconciliation.
  • Handling all cash transactions and organizing for timely banking.
  • M-Pesa Account management and reconciliation.
  • Stock take and stock reconciliation.
  • Posting Workshop bills, Fuel, Job cards and billing customers on the same.
  • Posting Mpala’s and staff vehicle fuel consumption and Motor vehicle Repairs

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Certified public accountant part II section IV.
  • Degree in business management, accounting, finance or any other related field.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer accounting software.
  • Good with numbers and an analytical acumen.
  • Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
  • A well-organized team player with the ability to perform various tasks, act individually, and think creatively.
  • Excellent organizing abilities and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-driven.
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Dependable, honest and trustworthy.
  • Energetic, positive, and constructive attitude.
