Presta Limited was established in 2017, as a subsidiary of Workpoint Limited, a 5 year old software development house. Presta exists to open up the mobile lending market to many more players in the Mid and low-level lending sector including; Saccos, MFI’s and other community lending organizations.

Finance and Administrator Intern

 

Job Description

  • Keep financial records and perform financial procedures (e.g, receipts, payments requests, petty cash).
  • Assist the organization and management of internal and external audits.
  • Ensure expenses are authorized and processed in accordance with agreed procedures for both Presta and IAS.
  • Maintain the accounting reporting process, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of ledgers and all supporting documentation and compliance with IAS.
  • Maintain accounting records, ensuring they are complete, accurate, well archived and safeguarded.
  • Ensure agreed reporting dates are maintained according to Presta’s policies.
  • Assist in reconciling client’s accounts ensuring accuracy of ledger balances.
  • Check, process and record all payments, administer invoices and expenses claims received, code items to agreed budgets, and action payments.
  • Reconcile transactions on computer and bank statements and ensure that all accounts balance.
  • Liaise with and review budgets and expenditure as necessary with the Accountant and prepare reports (weekly, monthly, etc) and other data as required.
  • Maintain proper records for all the above on computer payroll and accounting software and filing of all relevant paperwork.
  • Provide reports and information to the Accountant, Director of Strategy and Operations, and Managing Director as required.
  • Attend board meetings when requested by the Managing Director
  • Taking of meeting minutes as required.
  • Undertake general admin tasks e.g. dealing with items of correspondence, telephone messages & enquiries and filing

Requirements

It is essential that the post holder has the following:

  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written Proficiency in working with Microsoft packages, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Accuracy in reporting detailed financial information Ability to work as part of a team, as well as on own initiative
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and professionals alike
  • Confidence in liaising with external organizations
  • Ability to work under pressure, plan and prioritize own workload, manage competing tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate well in English and Swahili.
