Good Neighbors Kenya was established in 1995. We undertake CDPs (Community Development Projects) aimed at empowering community members for self-reliance by targeting individual children and the community as a whole. We target the vulnerable and marginalized community members both in the urban and rural parts of the country with a key focus in improving access to quality education. On the other hand, we focus on empowering the parents through Income Generation for self-reliance and in order to meet their needs for a sustainable community.

Health Specialist
Key Responsibilities
- Provide facilitation and training support for maternal health components for the Maternal and Newborn Health Project.
- Participate and provide input to regular project meetings and teleconferences.
- Provide technical support to country and project offices on maternal and newborn health activities as required.
- Promote effective coordination, collaboration, communication and synergy across other KGN strategic projects through cross project assignments.
- Promote effective coordination, collaboration, communication and synergy among KGN stakeholders including Ministry of Health and Kajiado County.
- Support program development through project conceptualization, proposal development, identification of partners and oversight in project implementation.
- Overseeing construction plan for maternal health facilities
- Procurement of medical equipment for maternal health facilities
- Understand utilization and management of medical equipment in health facilities
- Experience understanding of procedures County and project implementation
- Act as a link of the project between the Ministry of Health at County and National
- Develop public policies and regulations that improve health
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in medicine or nursing, registered with the relevant governing body
- 3-years working experience in health care
- At least 3 years of experience developing, providing facilitation and managing Maternal Health projects.
- Experience identifying and securing funds for international projects
- Proven ability to design, and provide facilitation to maternal health and projects, particularly community level projects.
- Demonstrated ability to engage in and manage teams with host community counterparts including Community Health Workers (CHWs).
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with team members
- Experience with maternal health policy/guideline development and training.
- Demonstrated ability to write concept notes, technical proposals and manage responses to tenders is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work with projects, organizations, and external stakeholders, including development partners, in-country government organizations.
- Fluency in written and oral English; proficiency in Maasai language preferred
Behavourial Change Officer
Key Responsibilities
- Producing and distributing information-education-communication (IEC) and behaviorchange communication (BCC) materials
- Plan and conduct awareness campaigns on maternal and newborn health services
- Tracking behavioral health appointments defaulters to check in and address any barriers
- Shares communication between project donor and stakeholders to facilitate and improve continuity of the project
- Document all project communications and maintain up-to-date information of the maternal health project
- Creates and develops relationships with community providers to promote availability of affordable behavioral health resources not provided by health care service.
- Oversee establishment and operation of Community Health Committee (CHC) and Community Health Volunteer (CHV)
- Support trainings for Community Health Committee (CHC) and Community Health Volunteer (CHV) in conjunction with the County government procedures
- Conducts monitoring and evaluation of the project
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields including but not limited to social work and psychology from an accredited college or university
- At least 2 years working experience in related field
- Experience in research methods and conducting filed based assessments
- Experience in project management is preferred
- Experience in providing care in multicultural practice setting is preferred
- Proficient in use of computer hardware and software to document clinical care, and in use of Microsoft office applications
- Knowledge of assessment, planning, implementation and standards for care/treatment plan developmen
Regional Grant Coordinator
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate grant-making process in the region in collaboration with GN Global Partnership Center in South Korea
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all grant-related inquiries in the region
- Monitor and report on the progress of active grants in the region
- Follow up on the grant application status of each country office
- Lead the process of concept notes and proposal development by working closely with grants management teams in each country office
- Write, edit, and proofread grant proposals and supporting materials
- Assess partners’ risks on grants management and compliance perspective, develop and roll out capacity-building actions in coordination with all concerned
- Support Good Neighbors technical teams and other stakeholders to ensure regional grant workshops are organized in a timely and efficient manner
- Lead GN fundraising working group and hold meetings on a monthly basis
- Identify and secure additional resources to supplement grant funding
- Manage relationships with key partners and stakeholders
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in project management, business, public administration, international development, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in humanitarian and/or development programs, industry in business development, and grants management
- Minimum 3 years of work experience in grant-writing, fundraising, project management, or a similar role
- Sound understanding of program cycle management in development environments and emergencies, program quality, and partnership management
- Cultural and gender sensitivity and capacity to work in a multicultural context with moral integrity
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional writing, research, and analytical skills
- Thorough understanding of effective grant-writing techniques
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience in grant management with UN or government agencies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and Google Docs is a plus
- Professional experience in working in multiple countries is a plus
- Experience in grant management with international financial institutions and private donors is a plus
