Data Analysis Intern

About the role
Our IT team is growing and looking for a Data Analysis Intern to join the team to provide support to the BI Developer
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the BI Developer in the collection of user requirements and reporting needs from different stakeholders.
- Support the BI Developer in report preparation as and when required.
- Document and capture business requirements from internal and external stakeholders
- Perform data cleanups and import them into the system (CRM)
- Assist users in exporting Data from the system
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to understand their data needs and how these can be mapped into the system.
Qualifications
- Degree in IT or Computer Science with strong excel & analytical skills
- Proven knowledge of SQL, Python programming Languages & data visualization software like Power BI
- Technical proficiency in database design development, data models, techniques for data mining, and segmentation
- Experience in handling reporting packages like Business Objects, programming (Javascript, XML, or ETL frameworks), and databases.
- Excellent Problem-solving, collaboration & Communication skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Adept at queries, writing reports, and making presentations

We are looking for an Associate – Business Analyst who will be the vital link between our information technology capacity and our business objectives by supporting and ensuring the successful completion of analytical, building, testing, and deployment tasks of our software product’s features.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Working with internal and external customers in gathering, validating and documenting business requirements.
- Support in the prioritization of requirements from various stakeholders.
- Modelling and documenting business processes and identifying opportunities for process improvements.
- Identifying issues, risks and benefits of existing and proposed solutions and outlining business impacts.
- Creating functional specifications for solutions.
- Supporting business transition (specifically from IT Systems point of view) and helping to establish change.
- Carrying out training sessions and workshops to guide relevant teams.
- Communicate, translate, and simplify business requirements to ensure buy-in from all stakeholders
- Discover, organize, and clarify business needs and review/produce specifications for change
- Supervise a team of Analysts and work with the development team to support prioritise feature releases and ensure that they understand the specifications.
- Support in the Quality Assurance and Testing of features for the Production Environment
- Responsible as the team’s Scrum Master for the Software Development Sprints
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a software development environment
- Proven experience in eliciting requirements and testing
- Experience in analysing data to draw business-relevant conclusions and in data visualization techniques and tools
- Basic experience in writing SQL / Python queries will be an added advantage
- Basic knowledge in generating process documentation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including technical writing skills
- A degree in IT / Computer Science will be an advantage
