Biomedical Officers – 7 Positions

Overall Job Function
The Biomedical Officers will provide clinical services to eligible AGYW; including and not limited to; HTS services, family planning, STIs screening and treatment, contraceptive mix and post violence care services, PrEP and ensure linkage to necessary services within the supported sub county.
Key Responsibilities
Key roles and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Provide comprehensive biomedical interventions including HIV testing services, reproductive health products, post rape care services, male partner services, PrEP and linkage to other clinical services to adolescent girls and young women in the safe space
- Coordinate and implement all biomedical services in the safe spaces

- Support identification and enrolment of eligible AGYW and ensure structured layering and graduation from the program
- Ensure proper case management and continuity of biomedical services
- Ensure proper documentation, tracking of biomedical services and retention of PrEP
- Ensure real time, correct update of biomedical services in the DREAMS database
- Ensure proper biomedical commodity management and accountability in the safe spaces
- Provide post violence care services and participate in community violence response sensitisation
- Coordinate violence response activities within the safe space in collaboration with SASA! Coordinators
- Link AGYW to other HIV prevention programs and services
- Maintain proper medical records on the type of services given and ensure client confidentiality
- Support data management to ensure regular and timely collection, entry and accurate reporting
- Ensure availability all clinical SOPs, tools and guidelines
- Offer necessary services to AGYW sexual partners
- Any other duty as may be assigned by your supervisor.
Person Specification
- Diploma Nursing or Clinical medicine
- Demonstrated 2 years’ experience in HIV programs
- Experience in DREAMS program will be an added advantage
- Familiarity with donor funded HIV program implementation, documentation and reporting.
HTS Counselors – 7 Positions

Overall Job Function
The HIV Testing and Counselling officers will ensure quality HTS services and linkage to high impact HIV prevention services to the DREAM girls and their male sexual partners.

Key Responsibilities
Key roles and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Ensure quality HIV Testing Services (HTS) are provided as per the National Testing Algorithm in supported safe spaces
- Ensure HTS testing protocols are followed with fidelity: 6Cs, safe and ethical index testing
- Conduct risk-based/eligibility screening and testing of all AGYW in the respective safe spaces
- Support referral and linkage of all high-risk negative AGYW and their partners to high-impact prevention services including VMMC, PrEP, PEP, and OVC
- Provide index testing and elicitation of sexual partners and biological children of index clients, SNS and offer HIVST
- Participate in EQA activities including observed practice and proficiency testing
- Enhance scale-up and uptake of HIV recency testing for all clients testing HIV positive in the safe spaces by applying the LRSRF for recency eligibility and referral
- Utilize eHTS to document all clients tested, review entries made, and upload eHTS data to the national data warehouse
- Ensure real time HTS results update in the DREAMS data base
- Ensure intra and inter-facility referral and linkages for all newly identified clients and ensure their longitudinal follow-up
- Utilisation of the DAR for (Rapid Test Kit) RTK to account for RTK utilization
- Support the M&E framework by reviewing and maintenance of HTS registers/EMR, wall charts, data entry, reports, timeliness, and accuracy
- Participate in monthly counsellor supervision meetings and review individual counsellor performances against the target
- Ensure monthly forecasting, quantification, and reporting of RTKs
- Participate in violence response activities within the safe space in collaboration with SASA! Coordinators and the Biomedical Officers
- Ensure availability all HTS protocols, SOPs, tools and guidelines
- Any other duty as may be assigned by your supervisor.
Person Specification
- Diploma in Counselling, community health, social work or related diploma
- Certificate in HIV Testing Services from certified institution is mandatory
- Demonstrated 2 years’ experience in HIV programs
- Experience in DREAMS program will be an added advantage
- Familiarity with donor funded HIV program implementation, documentation and reporting.
