Strategy Manager

Job Purpose Statement
The Strategy Manager is responsible for the delivery of a strategic projects and internal consulting engagements. This leader will leverage their experience in management consulting to deliver some of the most challenging NCBA Group enterprise programs. No two days on the Strategy team are the same. You’ll collaborate with teammates and business stakeholders on major projects that produce meaningful insights and actionable recommendations for NCBA Group – from broad, enterprise-wide endeavours to narrower, more business-specific opportunities. This role reports to the Head, NCBA Group Internal Consulting.
Ideal Job Specifications
Academic:
- Master’s degree preferred; will consider equivalent work experience
Desired work experience:
- Minimum of 6 years combined experience in a combination of the following areas:
- Excellent strategy development skills, with mid-level experience in a leading strategy consultancy or in a strategy role for a corporate preferred

Technical Competencies
- Superior analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor, attention to detail and ability to carry out sophisticated financial modelling
- Strong analytical skills and previous experience of analysing business and financial impacts of proposed initiatives and recommending the appropriate action
- Ability to develop action plans and successfully oversee the management of large cross-functional teams through implementation
- Track record of delivering strategic initiatives
- Experience in and/or exposure to the Banking industry preferred
Brand Manager

Job Purpose Statement
To build a strong, reputable and trusted “brand” that positions NCBA Group in KE, UG, TZ and RW as a leading digital first, innovative brand amongst our target markets through a combination of inspirational (and emotional) brand messaging and communication strategies that reinforce the brand values across assigned Business Units. The role of the Brand Manager is to develop and execute all the brand plans and marketing initiatives within the MCC unit that is responsible for supporting Corporate Brand, Corporate Banking and Investment Banking. These brand plans are developed to create awareness and uptake of the existing and/or new products and services, in order to deliver on the Bank’s growth objectives. The role holder is expected to deliver the overall MCC objective of enhancing brand visibility and upholding/promoting a positive organizational brand image & reputation. The role holder is also responsible for the implementation of Brand Health Measurement programs in order to establish market perceptions/insights and level of affinity for the brand. Lastly, the role holder is also responsible for aligning the organizational corporate strategy with the business unit strategies

Academic:
- University degree, preferably in Marketing, Advertising or Business Management.
- Relevant professional qualification in Marketing would be an advantage.
Professional:
- Proficiency in use of MS Office – PowerPoint, Excel, Word, MS Project etc.
- Proven ability to develop brand and marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management
- Possesses strategic thinking skills, creativity, persuasiveness, results orientation, assertiveness and tenacity to sell ideas
- Experienced marketing and branding background and intimate knowledge of consumer insights.
- Experience in dealing with 3rd party agencies – leading the client-agency relationship
- Up-to-date with latest trends and marketing best practices
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to manage conflict well
- Possesses high level of personal drive, initiative & follow -through, performance results and leadership skills.
- Strong analytical skills, data-driven thinking and problem solving.
- Advanced communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent listening and decision-making skills
Desired Work Experience:
- 5-7 years’ relevant experience – managing a brand or product portfolio and supported by a sound track record.
- Creative Agency experience a plus
- An excellent planner and organizer with working proficiency in Project Management skills
