Business Manager

Primary Responsibilities

  • The main duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to;
  • Develop and ensure timely and efficient implementation of the division’s strategy and Annual Work Plan and Budget (AWB);
  • Solicit and receive business offers from existing and potential clients, assessing such offers and determining whether to accept them or not in line with the Corporation’s underwriting policy;
  • Manage and carry out local and international underwriting of the business;
  • Oversee the administration of Retro Programme for life business;
  • Maintain constant liaison with ceding companies/ retro cessionaries and monitor treaty performance by ensuring up-to-date records are maintained;
  • Carry out market visits regularly in the local and international markets for new business and for the renewal of existing business;
  • Ensure that ceding companies comply with the Corporation’s reinsurance requirements on submissions of returns;
  • Follow up on treaty technical statements from the ceding companies;
  • Keep a close liaison with the life players market;
  • Design appropriate formats for statistics emanating from the Unit;
  • Plan for and develop staff; 
  • Prepare the performance report and attend management meetings.

Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in insurance or a business-related field.

Professional Qualifications

  • ACII and/or AIIK.


  • At least 6 years of relevant experience; two of which should be in management. 


  • Good interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Good organization and management skills.

Supply Chain Officer

Primary Responsibilities

  • The main duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to;
  • Preparing and requesting for tenders/quotations/proposals from suppliers;
  • Working with user departments on their terms of reference/specifications;
  • Carrying out designated checks on quality and security aspects of procurement;
  • Ensure equitable and fair distribution of requests for proposals to all prequalified suppliers;
  • Taking part in the opening and onward processing of the quotations;
  • Providing technical and secretariat services during evaluations; 
  • Producing of Local Purchase Orders (LPO);
  • Liaising with suppliers on the progress in the delivery of goods/services/works;
  • Preparation of statutory reports to PPRA; 
  • Market Surveys;
  • Contract management. 

Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in any business-related field, procurement and logistics will be an added advantage.
  • Professional Qualifications / Membership to professional bodies
  • Must be a member of the Kenya Institute of Supplies and Management (MKISM). Membership to Member of Chartered 
  • Institute of Purchasing Supplies (MCIPS) will be an added advantage.
  • Previous relevant work experience required
  • 4 years experience with at least four a Public Institutions or any other established institution.
