Job Summary: Our client is looking to engage Civil Engineers with Technical Sales background to sell and offer technical support in Geo-synthetics construction materials.

The successful candidates will be trained thoroughly and guided to the sites to engage clients and to work closely with the hub manager to achieve the set revenue targets for the specified region.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Travel to various sites within Kenya and EAC countries
  • Identify potential clients and present the products to them
  • Create and deliver powerful presentations and demos that clearly communicate the uniqueness of the products
  • Manage all technical aspects of RFP / RFI responses and training to clients
  • Maintain current client’s database
  • Update assigned accounts with the latest product information
  • Identify solutions and market them to assigned accounts
  • Keeping track of all new quotes and orders to key clients
  • Generate new business by being proactive in identifying new opportunities and promoting new solutions
  • Marketing at Expo’s and similar
  • Conduct product training and presentations
  • Read and interpret drawings to assist consultants and contractors
  • Deliver technical presentations to customers
  • To forecast sales accurately
  • To close sales on a consistent basis
  • To source for business and target big projects
  • To meet monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets and grow sales month by month
  • Answer technical questions from the clients
  • Identify and map sales areas and conduct sales demos
  • To ensure complaints and after-sales service issues and repairs are managed in time and to the satisfaction of the customers
  • To meet high ethical standards in line with the company culture

Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering from an accredited University
  • 2 years of experience in construction site sales regardless of the products sold
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills both English and Swahili
  • Young, energetic and trainable
  • Microsoft office proficiency, especially Excel
  • Proficient with AutoCAD 2D
  • Proven work experience as a Sales Engineer
  • Proven track record selling complex construction products
  • Knowledge of Geo-synthetics construction products
  • Ability to forge strong, long-lasting relationships with clients
  • Ability to creatively explain and present complex concepts in an easy to understand manner
  • Excellent presentation and creativity skills
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the region and EAC
  • A go-getter, who can take initiatives and work independently
  • Aggressive, enthusiastic, innovative, passionate
  • Analytical and accurate in reporting with problem solving skills
  • Able to connect with people and obtain their trust and respect
  • Preferred candidates are those with experience selling construction products to construction sites
