TSC Announces Intern Teacher Recruitment Vacancies, How To Apply
TSC Announces Intern Teacher Recruitment Openings and Application Information. The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has listed openings for intern teachers. TSC seeks suitable people to fill 16 internship positions at secondary schools.
Candidates who are interested and meet the requirements should apply online by June 2, 2023, via the Commission’s website at www.tsc.go.ke under “Careers” or www.tsc.go.ke.
The following basic qualifications must be met by an applicant in order to be considered for the position.
- Be a Kenyan citizen
- Must have a certificate in education with a minimum mean grade of C+ (plus) and C+ (plus) in two teaching subjects in the KCSE or its equivalent
- Must be a registered teacher with the Teachers Service Commission is required.
General Information
- Manual applications will be rejected.
- The Commission’s Recruitment Guidelines for Teacher Interns in Post-Primary Institutions for the Fiscal Year 2022/2023 will apply.
- Shortlisted candidates must exhibit authentic academic and professional credentials.
- Candidates will be chosen solely on the basis of merit and the number of openings available in each county.
- Applicants who have previously worked for the Teachers Service Commission on a permanent and pensionable basis, as well as those who have participated in the TSC internship program, are ineligible.
- An applicant may apply to two schools where eligible vacancies have been announced.
- Successful candidates are not permitted to accept more than one Offer of Internship Engagement. Accepting two or more internship offers will result in disqualification.
To address personal risks throughout the internship time, successful applicants will be required to acquire Personal Accident Insurance.
Note
- The Teacher Internship Program is a 12-month course that aims to develop and maintain the skills of aspiring teachers.
- The initiative aims to place unemployed registered instructors in educational settings where they can get more teaching experience through mentorship, coaching, and practical application.
- A copy of the National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD) card (if applicable), a copy of the National Identity Card (ID) or Passport, two (2) color passport-size photographs, a copy of the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) card, and a copy of the Kenya Revenue Authority Personal Identification Number (KRA PIN) will all be requested from applicants during verification and interviews.
The internship will last for twelve (12) months. This is an unpaid opportunity. The monthly pay for secondary school-affiliated teaching interns will instead be Kshs. 20,000. The stipend will not be paid until all relevant statutory deductions have been made.
Teacher interns will receive a diploma at the conclusion of the internship program. According to the legislation and the constitution, the Teachers Service Commission is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from PWDs.
